Tom Old, Social Entrepreneur and Sustainability Leader, is Managing Director of Clean Energy and at our January 19th luncheon his talk will be titled: Good Business – Why and how global businesses are leading the way to become sustainable.
The Reality of Climate Change
Having worked for over 10 years in the consumer-tech industry, Tom came to realise that the consumption of goods and services dictates to a large degree how we impact our fragile planet. In 2014 he established Ethical Introductions Ltd which runs two ‘clean switch’ brands that use innovative ways to help businesses and households to move to clean energy supply.
In 2016 Tom spent three days training with Al Gore in Manila as part of the Climate Reality program. He has since been an active member of climate reality and has done talks at events across the country including the Cambridge Examination Board. He attended COP21 in Paris (the famous international climate agreement) and is well connected in the world of business and sustainability.
He is a believer in pragmatic, positive change and believe that establishing the right strategy is not just a necessity for the planet, but necessary if businesses want to evolve and stay relevant in the 21st century.
Clean Energy UK provides boutique advice and support to businesses who want to switch to lower carbon energy supply; and Big Clean Switch that partners with big names e.g. Greater Manchester Combined Authority, IKEA, Unilever and Big Issue to help customers and readers transition to cheap, clean energy.
