Firstly, I hope everyone has had a great holiday, and the sun finally shone for those who decided to stay in the UK , now that the tan will start to fade and the white outfit will soon be back on our wardrobes, the memories are ones to remember.
It is hard for me to believe that one year has gone by, and now is the time to hand over the chairmanship and chain of office to our new chairman Katie Young, who no doubt will carry the baton forward with just as much pride as I did. I like the chain so much, that I am looking for a replica!!
But before I go, I want to say a big thank you to all our members for the support during the year, and to Stuart and Tricia for their encouragement during my time as a Chairman, I can assure you I had a ball.
The year will be unforgettable. We saw Britain Brexiting, and I am glad that although early days Armageddon has yet to materialise, personally I am confident that we will be proven right in our decision.
Meanwhile back in Rio. Our athletes made us proud winning so many medals and coming in second in the medal table !! It is certainly something to celebrate.
Back to Business
I am looking forward to our business date updates as we are going to hopefully catch up with Matt from Portmore and Angie from Evolution 4 Business.
Our last speaker Andy Miles was very interesting, bringing awareness regarding Cybersecurity. I have taken on their free offer to analyse my company’s systems and was astonished to find out how venerable we are. My suggestion is to follow suit and you will be surprised.

His main role includes brokering deals with journalists; developing PR strategies; scripting and directing videos through to media training, crisis management and event management. He is also in demand for management consultancy and motivational speaking.

He’ll be talking about his adventures in the wonderful world of PR; the do’s and don’ts – and how you can weave all the various strands of the media together to make them work to promote you as an individual or your company or organisation.
Along the way he’ll be examining the role of the press, TV and radio … right the way through to the web and social media. He’ll also lift the lid on branding. Is it as important as McDonalds, Coca Cola or British Airways would have us believe…
