I do hope that you all enjoyed the Association’s 27th Anniversary Luncheon as much as I did. It was fascinating to hear from Stuart Percival the founder member, about the history of the Association, and would like to thank Stuart and Tricia for all their hard work over the past 27 years, which have made the Association the success it is today.
It was a pleasure to welcome Andrew Stembridge, the Chief Executive of the Chewton Glen as an honoured guest, to celebrate this special occasion. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew and all of the staff at the Chewton Glen for their continued support.
I am sure you will all agree that our guest speaker Mary Montagu-Scott was wonderful. I for one, found it incredibly interesting to hear about Bucklers Hard, one of my favourite places to visit in the New Forest and also to find out more about the planned project to restructure the ‘Agamemnon’ along with the opportunities at the Shipwrights school, to keep traditional boat building skills alive.
With Christmas soon approaching I am looking forward to celebrating at our special Christmas Luncheon on Friday 16th December, which will be held in the beautiful surroundings of the ‘Lake Suite’. We will be entertained by Peter Wardell, a comedy magician. I am sure it will be a great event to finish off 2016 in style and I hope to see many of you there along with your guests, partners and colleagues. It will be very much a laid back meeting with the accent on FUN !!
Looking forward to 2017, I am pleased to announce that Eddie Neylon has kindly agreed to share his next edition of stories relating to his time as part of the NATO special operations.
I know that last time Eddie spoke he left us on the edge of our seats, desperate to hear more. So, back by popular demand, Eddie has agreed to entertain us with some serious and funny stories from his days when he was known as ‘Charlie Delta Foxtrot’.
